Triple tube 4-pin CFLs deliver high lumen output from three parallel tubes with a GX24q 4-pin base for electronic ballast operation. The 4-pin configuration supports dimming when paired with a compatible ballast, making these lamps versatile for a range of commercial settings.

Brand Naming Conventions

The 4-pin triple tube is identified by each manufacturer with their electronic-ballast suffix:

  • Philips (Signify): PL-T/4P
  • GE: Biax T/E
  • Sylvania (Ledvance): Dulux T/E

As with double tube CFLs, the suffix is the key differentiator from the 2-pin magnetic version. ""PL-T"" without ""/4P"" is the 2-pin lamp; ""PL-T/4P"" is the 4-pin electronic version.

GX24q Base Variants

The GX24q base is keyed by wattage:

  • GX24q-2: 18W lamps
  • GX24q-3: 26W lamps
  • GX24q-4: 32W and 42W lamps

These lamps are a staple in commercial downlights, recessed troffers, and wall-wash fixtures. Cross-compatible across all three major brands when matched by base, wattage, and color temperature.
